SlipAlert and the UK HSE
The HSE recognise SlipAlert as an accurate portable slip assessment tool. SlipAlert has a very high correlation with the Pendulum, the de facto industry standard.
HSE assessed SlipAlert in 2005 - and since then SlipAlert gets better and better
The HSE report on SlipAlert is based on tests done in 2005. Since then, the HSE have growing evidence that SlipAlert is robust, practical and the best portable floor testing tool.

Others agree with HSE that SlipAlert is a good measure of Slip Risk
SlipAlert has been tested in the filed by hundreds of users who agree that it is an easy and effective way to measure slip risk. It has been tested by the HSE and by CSIRO in Australia who tested SlipAlert on 10 hard floors and 20 different resilient floors and found good correlation with the TRL Pendulum thought to be the only other slip test that can accurately measure slip risk in both wet and dry conditions.

HSE and HSL comments on SlipAlert
The UK government agencies the Health & Safety Executive and Health and Safety Laboroatories have formally tested SlipAlert and the report says...
"The extended testing of SlipAlert showed a
good correlation with the Pendulum test..."
"SlipAlert should be regarded as a good indication of available friction,
lending itself to risk assessment, monitoring of floor surfaces and evaluating & monitoring
"SlipAlert tends to give fail-safe readings"
Your help gathering floor safety data...
We'd like your help to prove the value of gathering real data on floors and the changes over time. Some floors remain safe for many years, others change from being quite safe to quite dangerous depending on the cleaning regime, treatments, coatings and polishes applied, the level of pedestrian use, other wear (trolleys etc), contamination, how people interact with the floor etc. Many factors can affect the risk of slips and many factors can contribute to the changes in your floors. We believe that every customer who regularly tests "at risk" floors and collates the data will help to build a knowledge base that will help prevent slip accidents. If you'd like to help us to gather data, then please contact us.

Visual Measure of Slip Resistance
The visual effect is important. As you will find when you use SlipAlert, it is easy to see if an area of floor has a slip risk.
HSE SlipAlert and floor cleaning...
SlipAlert is the best portable device we know of that will detect contamination on a floor. Contaminants change the slip resistance of a floor and many slip accidents are caused by contamination or poor cleaning. With SlipAlert you can prevent serious accidents.
"SlipAlert should be regarded as a good indication of available friction, lending itself to risk assessment, monitoring of floor surfaces and evaluating & monitoring cleaning regimes"
HSE Shattered Lives Campaign
In 2008 the HSE Shattered Lives Campaign remind us that slips are the biggest cause of accidents and that businesses have a duty of responsibility to keep floors safe.
HSE / HSL using SlipAlert
The HSE / HSL use SlipAlert. They have conducted in depth research to prove that SlipAlert works and now each region has access to a SlipAlert.
Health and safety Regulations and safety at work act
All your employees and customers must be able to walk safely on all floors and external walk areas. The Health & Safety at work Act is very clear and you must keep your floors safe and free from slip risk. 10,000 suffered serious injuries at work from slip and fall accidents.
HSE Approved slip test
The HSE never approve any slip test machine. The HSE has not therefore approved SlipAlert but you can read HSE comments on SlipAlert and judge for yourself.
SlipAlert papers have been submitted to CEN TC339 for approval.
